New Patients - Pediatric Dentistry

What’s Different about Pediatric Dentistry?

Your First Call

It’s our desire to get to know you and your child before you visit to make their first visit as comfortable and easy as possible. When you call to schedule an appointment, we’ll ask about prior doctor and dentist visit experiences and provide you with all you need to know about how long the appointment will take and what it will cost, including insurance information.

Child-Focused Environment

If your children used to hate going to the dentist, after their first visit with us, your children might not want to leave! We aim to create a welcoming and inviting environment for young and old, with games and toys in the waiting room, books on the tables to read, TVs on the ceiling of exam rooms, and stuffed animals everywhere.

Positive and Friendly Staff

From the moment you walk in, you and your child are the special guests of our office. Our team loves kids (some of us were former patients of Dr. Iten’s!), and we’re here to make them know they are loved and safe. The office has an open feel, with sliding glass doors for rooms that need to be quieter, so that your child never feels closed in.

Tell, Show, Do

Children are curious, and unknowns can cause anxiety. We practice “Tell, Show, Do” in our office. We begin any procedure by telling them about what it is and what it’s going to do. Then we demonstrate what it will be like, and finally we complete the procedure.

No Four-Letter Words

Our team avoids the four-letter words - pain, hurt, and shot - to reduce your child’s anxiety and help keep their dental experience fear-free.

Positive Reinforcement

We’re here to encourage your child through praise and recognition. We want to reinforce positive behavior related to how they handled the dental experience to help them develop good dental hygiene habits. We want your child to look forward to their next dental visit!

What to Bring to Your First Visit

• Your completed new patient paperwork and any required documents
• Your insurance information
Parent or Legal Guardian must be present at the first visit.

Paying for Dental Care

We aim to make paying for care easy by taking in-network and out-of-network insurance as well as self-pay.
Our in-network providers include: Met Life, Delta Dental Premier, and Superior/Medical Mutual.

Our Office also accepts CareCredit payments. CareCredit is a financial assistance program available to those with or without insurance.
